Oh, wow, yeah, I didn't notice that when I read it, probably because I assumed it was the can'tibalism world and so knew those were fantasy people. I think you're right that it's not fantasy unless the attraction between the characters is supernatural, which I don't think is in the story as written (for instance, if they were literal soulmates, if one of them is supernaturally attractive, etc ( ... )

I'm having the same issue with one of my stories. It's nominally steampunk, but really it is pre-WWI Germany with a couple of things that are steam-powered. So, I don't have much in the way of useful advice, but I can commiserate. Good luck!

Um, like I kinda said in the crit, you could have him scry around in some vaguely mystical way at the beginning, see her and fall in love. Then the story could progress as usual.

And maybe have the reason the two are caught be some sort of chastity spell that monitors her... idk just a thought.

Do you think it counts as fantasy? I was kind of thinking I'd like, add a second moon or something. Just to make it clear.

I think it counts. Genre boundaries are bendy all over the place. I don't think a second moon is *necessary*, but it might help. I just don't know how picky they might be. Ellen Klages had a story at Scifiction with no fantasy content whatsoever, but that's Ellen Klages.
