I went to go see The Winter's Tale today in DC.  It was good, and especially the woman who played Paulina, but watching it reminded me of why I'm not a huge fan of Shakespeare ( Read more... )

Now I'm watching Return of the Jedi. Is it bad that I spend a lot of this movie wanting to smack Luke in the face?

I have to agree, especially since he's a gigantic pansy throughout most of the series. Now when I watch them, I'm like, "Well, we know where he got his whining from!"

If you pretend never to have seen Episode 3, it helps a lot :)

I'm just glad he hasn't raped the majesty that is Han Solo by making a movie of his younger years yet. UGH. Knowing my luck, they'd probably cast Josh Hartnett. ;-;

Well, younger Han Solo would probably be the rebellious teen stereotype, so it might not be so bad. On the other hand, they'd probably play up the whole angst angle with him.

Have you noticed like I did that even though Lucas went out of his way to explain people like Boba Fett and fucking Jabba in the prequels, we get nothing, NOTHING, about Han? Poor guy. Or maybe it's a blessing in disguise.

And Luke comes across less as a whiner and more of a pretentious ass, in my opinion. "I left my training early in a fit of retardedness, but I am still SO much better than everyone else!" is that vibe I get from the whole last movie.

Ignore the new episodes. That's how I manage to not taint the original trilogy in my mind. I refuse to let Hayden ruin my image of Vader.

I need...an OT icon. I'm such a bad star wars fan...
