Well, THIS is embarrassing

So, I'm submitting an application tonight and there's a note that says you can send your resume directly to the hiring manager, whose first name is listed as "Chris." I, being the silly girl that I am, assume that it must be a man and address the short note in my email to a "Mr." It's only after I get an out-of-office reply that I realize that ( Read more... )

They should put their full name. All you can do, if they call you on it, is apologize, since most people would assume "Chris" was short for "Christopher".

This is coming from a person who didn't realize until after I'd clicked 'Next' on a Borders app that what I read as 'Country' was actually 'County'. So, if anyone asks, I live in United States County :)
