[ age ] Thirteen
[ personality ]
[ history ] On the night of Ciel's tenth birthday on December 14th, a tragedy fell on the Phantomhive household. The mansion was burned down to the ground, and the Lord and Lady Phantomhive were both killed-- though how they were is still wrapped up in secrecy. Somehow, young Ciel managed to get captured and sold into slavery. He was branded like a common animal, continuing to suffer the deepest humiliation by being bought as a sacrifice for some sort of ritualistic organization. They were prepared to kill him without remorse.
Whatever they were trying to eventually summon must have backfired on them, because a demon came forth instead. Ciel, now hardened against the world's truths, decided to seize this chance, and demanded to make a contract with the demon: his soul at the end of his revenge for the creature's service. So the deal was made, and so the demon was given the name 'Sebastian Michaelis', an ever smiling butler born from their deal that took Ciel home, single-handedly restored his mansion, and has made his daily tea for the past two-- nearly three-- years.
Sebastian has since stayed at Ciel's side, helping him with the various 'cases' her Majesty the Queen bestows on the young Earl. Most of these cases deal with the underground drug and black magic groups-- the darker side of London that the Queen doesn't want society to see. Whenever she sends a case to the Phantomhive, it's his job to see that the issue or scandal is cleaned up and hidden from public eye to prevent from smearing the Queen's reputation; Sebastian's job is to carry out the necessary orders his Young Master gives to see the case to the end. He is a valuable pawn to Ciel in these cases-- some of which are rather uninteresting or unexciting, others that touch nerves and run deep into the deepest and dirtiest alleyways of London.
JACK THE RIPPER CASE | With London's Season on its last few nights of revelry, the scandalous news comes that several prostitutes have been murdered on the streets of London. The Queen dispatches Ciel to figure out who is the killer. The Undertaker gives them a hint as to who the suspect may be: the wombs of the women were expertly cut out of the body. With the evidence pointing to a doctor experienced with anatomy, lacking an alibi on the nights of the incidents, and someone involved with black magic, Sebastian discovers for his Young Master that the only one person who could be the killer would be the Viscount Druitt, one of the most popular men in London. In order to sneak into the Viscount's last party of the Season, Ciel dresses as a female, and manages to capture the Viscount with Sebastian's assistance. When the murders continue despite his capture, Ciel is forced to demand of Sebastian why his information was inaccurate...and realizes that it was not one, but two murderers. The murderers turn out to be Ciel's aunt, Madam Red, and her death god butler, Grell Sutcliff. A confrontation between the two parties ends with Madam's tragic death, and Grell's unlikely (and undesired) attachment to Sebastian.
ROYAL WARRANT CASE | Quite a few 'British upstarts', or British merchants who worked and became rich in India, have been harassed, hung upside down over the front of a building with a note attached that leaves the symbol of a tongue sticking out on the bottom. Ciel is ordered to investigate who is the cause of this. In their search, Ciel and Sebastian run across Prince Soma, the 26th prince of Bengal, and his servant Agni. Soma and Agni follow Ciel home, and he learns that they are in London to search for Soma's handmaid Mina, who mysteriously disappeared from his palace. Soma and Agni seem very suspicious, however, when the places that they are visiting to look for her are also the places in which new upside-down hanged British upstarts are found. In fact, Agni is working for West, one of the British upstarts whose business did not suffer because he was suspiciously absent when the hangings occurred. In order to counter West and get Agni back for Soma, Ciel has Sebastian compete in a curry contest for the rights to a royal warrant for the Phantom Company's culinary branch-- and Sebastian's opponent is Agni himself, who has the right hand of God that is able to make delicious curries worthy of no equal. In the end, Sebastian's invention of a curry donut is what earns the reward of the royal warrant, approved by the queen herself.
NOAH'S ARK CIRCUS CASE | Not a day after the Royal Warrant case is closed, the queen sends Ciel a letter that requests him to find out about the disappearances of children all around London. She sends him tickets to the Noah's Ark Circus, who somehow 'coincidentally' are always in shows when the children disappear. Ciel and Sebastian go to the circus, and then actually end up joining the circus ranks in order to investigate the members and the circus tents. Sebastian uses some rather lewd means in which to coax information out of Beast, the female wild cat tamer, namely the name of the circus' boss. While Ciel and Sebastian go to confront the Baron Kelvin, the circus members discover that their new recruits were fakes, and set off to destroy the Phantomhive mansion, thinking that they would be there. Maylene, Bard, and Finny dispose of them, and Ciel and Sebastian soon discover that Baron Kelvin was one of the men Ciel had met in his youth, a man who was obsessed with the Phantomhive family's beauty enough that he wanted to reenact the day that Ciel was meant to be sacrificed. In a rage, Ciel has Sebastian kill the Baron and Joker, the ringmaster of the circus, as well as all of the children that had disappeared in London, collected to be used in the sacrifice. Later, Ciel and Sebastian visit the workhouse that held the circus folk's friends-- Baron Kelvin had promised for these orphans' care, but Ciel and Sebastian find out that the workhouse has long been abandoned...
MURDER MYSTERY CASE | With Ciel slowly recovering from the blow of his mistake in the Noah's Ark Circus case, he takes on a request from the queen to entertain a German visitor to London, hoping to get in her good graces again. The party for the visitor results in the murder of the German, and recently as well as Sebastian's "death". I will, however, be taking Sebastian from the early point of this case, where the instructions for throwing this party for the German visitor have been issued by the queen for Ciel, but the party has not yet occurred.
[ appearance ] The first, most obvious physical trait anyone would notice of Ciel is his height. For a thirteen year old, of course, he has a relatively average height-- but in comparison to London's many other nobles, he's short enough that he could easily get lost in the crowd. Once confronted with the Earl, however, a person can start to notice the small but strange details that make up his person. Ciel has slate blue hair, cleanly cut but long enough to have bangs that frame his face a bit, but short enough to still look boyish. His visible left eye is a vivid cerulean and sea blue color, inherited from his mother. His right eye, however, is almost always covered up with an eyepatch, hiding a purple-ish haze of his eyes, and a demonic pentagram that is the symbol of his contract with Sebastian. His face itself seems more angular than it should at such a young age, though its made up of pale-pink skin still not yet affected by the stress he so often comes across.
Being fron late 19th century London, he also wears elaborate Victorian era clothes. Button suits and shorts with knee high stockings are usually what he can be seen in, though admittedly most of his clothes have a touch of feminine details to them with bows, lace, or ruffles (he can thank his dresser Nina Hopkins for that). These clothes hide a brand on his left side, the mark of the people who captured him and sold him to slavery. Ciel also almost always keeps two rings on his person-- first and most important, the blue sapphire ring passed down from his ancestors, the ring that is said to curse those of the Phantomhive line. It is his most treasured possession, and yet a tragic reminder of his lineage and past at the same time. The second ring is a simple signet ring used for pressing his family crest to make wax seals. These two rings are on his right thumb and right ring finger respectively.
[ abilities ] Ciel has hardly any physical abilities that could be comparable to his butler. He does, however, seem fairly proficient in the use of firearms-- he's keeps and uses a pistol on certain occasions, and is adept at using hunting rifles for the sport. He also has varying capabilities in other gentlemanly sports and talents such as horseback riding, pool playing, violin playing, and chess playing. Otherwise, most of Ciel's talents lie in his intelligence and the capabilities of his mind; he's an extremely capable business executive, and almost single-handedly runs his Phantom (Funtom) Company.

♘ CHARACTER INFORMATION
[ name ] Naminé
[ fandom ] Kingdom Hearts
[ canon point ] After saving Kairi in the World that Never Was.
[ age ] Technically...one and a half to two years old, but has the appearance of a 15 year old.
[ personality ] Before, Naminé was a meek, timid, and almost pitiful thing. Being bullied by Marluxia, Larxene, and the others at Castle Oblivion no doubt suppressed whatever self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-worth she likely inherited from the strange occurrence of her creation. Shut away from the rest of the Nobodies and of humanity, she became lonely and was manipulated or felt pressured to obey the other Nobodies' bidding-- it wasn't until Sora came and forgave her for the things she did that she started forgiving herself a little, and started to work towards fixing her mistakes. Now, a year after Castle Oblivion was brought down by Sora's Keyblade, Naminé has taken measures to ensure that he will win in the fight against Xemnas, aiding Roxas, supporting Riku, and freeing her other self Kairi from imprisonment in order to provide Sora with the backup he needed for the battle.
In the year leading up to these events, the changes in her personality have been subtle, yet significant. Her reserved nature caused by the abuse in Castle Oblivion will never truly leave her, but being subjected to loneliness and pain allowed her to feel the same things in others, and now she has an uncanny knack for knowing when others are in emotional turmoil. While her words aren't always the comforting that others are looking for, they often carry a sense of truth to them. Being able to sense these feelings in others has given her a stronger reason and desire to speak, and so instead of being a recluse like before, she is instead more soft-spoken-- demure, gentle, but honest (almost blunt). Naminé is more assured of herself, more willing to allow herself to live and feel, whether it is happiness or pain. By the time she is whisked to Wonderland, she is starting to learn how to stand up for herself, and work to protect others' futures as well as try to find her own.
[ history ]
[ naminé wiki article ][ appearance ] Like her other half Kairi, Naminé is the sort of person one doesn't notice right away simply because of her stature, but are drawn to anyways because of her presence. Naminé has very slender proportions, almost giving her an ambiance of being a doll-- and like a doll, she is a pretty little thing, with almost glassy sky blue eyes reminiscent of the two that she was created from, as well as their smile that allows the tiniest quirks up or down to speak volumes. Her blonde hair is all her own, though, and while it falls past her collarbone, it is usually swept over her right shoulder.
Naminé's dress is very simple, and only consists of a white spaghetti strap dress that is a few inches short in length of her knees, as well as a pair of white-blue sandals. She will probably find it more practical to get more durable clothes in Wonderland, once she is settled there.
[ abilities ] Naminé's abilities of memory manipulation stem from her strange origins, and are very specific, limited to only a certain group of people. Only Sora or people who have been in contact with Sora can be affected by her memory manipulation. Her powers allow her to create, destroy, and modify any memory of this group of people-- to what extent that she can, however, depends on how close to Sora that person is, and vice versa.
Outside of this, she also is able to draw. Her drawings may sometimes be connected to her memory manipulation, and for a long time, perhaps she was forced to draw under Marluxia's orders that may turn her away from wanting to continue. Either way, there is a definite talent there that she may explore in the future for her own pleasure.

[quietly] Did I somehow make the Darkness portal go somewhere else? But I've never been to this place before...how is that possible?
[aloud] The man said he hadn't seen Kairi or Pluto, but he said I could try and contact them using the mirror he gave me. I don't...Kairi? Pluto? Are you here?
[murmured] There isn't any time to fight in a war in this world. There's a war about to happen in ours. I need to find Kairi and make another portal...we have to get to where Sora is. Where he is.
[ third person ] [note: this is a third person sample I did for Naminé's
theskytides app. Her background there is a little different, but I think it is an accurate representation of my writing and of Naminé's characterization (or at least, a similar characterization to how she may feel upon arriving to Wonderland.]
This place was so large-- so much larger than her home islands had been.
Naminé felt her heart clench for a long, tight moment before it slowly and reluctantly relaxed. It was still so hard to use the past tense. It was still so hard to accept that everyone was gone. It was still so hard to realize that she was on her own now. Her, who had never even ventured to the marketplace without her mother or father.
She wondered if she would ever get used to it.
The blonde girl wove her way around the crowds of people, tightly clutching her bag to her chest. It'd been a long journey from Bydan, and she could use a shower and sleep, not to mention new shoes. So then, the first order of business should to be find an inn...right? Naminé hesitantly glanced up and down the street, gauging her options. Even after renting a room for the night, she still had to consider transportation money for the next day...and she couldn't afford to stay in town for an extended amount of time working a job. She had to keep moving towards Sora, moving away from Diz.
What was she going to do?
She stood still for a moment, watching the people pass her by, and the brief moment of self-doubt trickled out of her. Naminé had always done things out of example. Once she saw someone else do something with their own confidence, somehow she could manage to bring up the courage to do the same. Letting out a soft breath she slipped into the closest inn. It wouldn't hurt to ask how much it cost for one night's stay, right? The clerk at the front desk was busy with another customer, so the girl waited patiently for her turn, lost in thought.
"The Fiertia is in Claiborne...yeah, it was on the news...I heard it had something to do with Joseph Falls...their airship will still be in port for a while because of that attack..."
Airship? A big airship...like the one Sora was on. Someplace where she could work and have room and board at the same time. Maybe this was the answer to her problems.
When her turn came she set her hand on the counter, looking up at the clerk and hesitating for only a moment. "Please tell me about the Fiertia."
