Thanks for sharing your doubts. This looked interesting, but I think the same things that made you crazy would get on my nerves as well. Happy 48HBCing.

It's been a good challenge so far! I certainly didn't intend to put anyone off reading the book though, if only for the pleasure of having more people discuss it.

Hello, sister 48-HBC'er! ext_706589 June 10 2012, 14:15:41 UTC
I tried leaving a message last night but my laptop just couldn't "stick"...hope you've enjoyed the Challenge, I have loved the dialogue between various participants as well as allowing myself the luxury of pure reading time!

Thank you for your good wishes! I couldn't find anywhere to leave a comment for you in return, so hope you get notification of this!

Hmmmm, this seems a little, from what you describe, as if it would strike me as written with an overabundance of right-think and cause championing. But maybe those threads don't overpower the storyline, in which case, good.

Hmmmm indeed. I think a lot depends on how you find an eruption of WEIRD in your normal world setting - it's very different from just weird world, and I think a lot of people were very bothered by the fact that the Chaos had no explanation at all. I didn't mind that at all, but I did feel that the cause(s) championing was a bit clumsily executed, maybe? I'm really impatient for some friends (or Becca - though I can almost never get her to read things I *want* her to read!) to read it so there can be discussion!

What I'd be worried about is more the sort of thing rachelmanija described in this entry. I don't think I'd mind the WEIRD at all.

Oohhh. Oh my, no. It's not like that, definitely!
