- Valkyrie (see not-date): Good. Very, very, very good. But damn it's depressing, especially since you know how it ends.
See, my aunt has been trying to introduce me to her friend's son for years, because we both like Japanese things and are generally alike. The aunt and the friend both claim that it's about meeting people and not matching us up. I don't believe them. Anyway, this led to an invitation to Otakuthon in July, but I had work that day so it fell through, and we didn't communicate after that. So, of course, I was quite surprised when he called me last week, and told me his mom had told him that he had upset me.
I came to the conclusion that this was a rather lousy matchmaking scheme, but didn't voice my opinion aloud and instead assured him that he had never given me reason to be upset. So he took a deep breath and invited me to the movies. I said yes. Tada, end of the story!
...Kidding. We decided on a movie, time and place. Fastfoward to last Friday. We meet up at the cinema, and are faced with the fact that The Spirit received really bad reviews. We therefore decide to go see Valkyrie instead. We also decide that he will pay for the tickets and I will pay for the food. We find places and talk a bit before the movie begins. It was mostly me driving the conversation, but I knew he was a bit shy, so it wasn't a problem.
Then, after the movie, we decide to walk a bit and go out for coffee. We end up in a nice little Starbucks, and have dessert. We start talking again, and reach the topics of manga and video games. Bingo. Shyness gone after about two sentences. So we talk and talk for a while, but then I realize it's getting slightly dark, and my legs are starting to hurt. So I suggest we go on another walk, and as we get ready to leave, he absentmindedly checks his watch. 9:15. Did I mention the movie ended at 3:30?
We panicked a bit. I mean, my parents worry if I go shopping after class without warning, and I hadn't called them at all since 12:30. So I borrowed his cellphone and told my dad that no, I wasn't dead, could you come and get us, please? He said yes, and the two of us decided to hang aroud the entrance until he got there. So we waited. And waited. And waited. He arrived at around ten. Apparently, he got lost thrice on the way. Parents, I swear. So everyone got home safely and my parents only had very small heart attacks, which shouldn't cause problems until they reach their eighties. The End!
...It really wasn't a date, by the way.
- Dissidia came out in Japan and I wants it, precious.
- I want it because Cecil is hot.
- Sparkly Gundam is Sparkly.
- Squall is hot too.
- I scratched a guy during a card finding game/Japanese revision session. Shouldn't have gotten between me and my prey.
- I'm a generally straight girl, but I'd still do green-haired Terra.
- Got both of my hands smashed against the table during said revision game, too. But I got my prey.
- I'd do Ultimecia too, really.
- Scared the teacher and my teammates during aforementionned revision game. I still kicked most of their asses, bitches.
- I'd do all the Dissidia characters, really. Even the tree.
- Being too competitive is bad, boys and girls.
- Except Chaos. His voice scares me.
- Traduction 4 is boring and shouldn't be at 8:30.
