Another Bloody Icon Post

Aug 27, 2004 09:44

I would like to say, one, I'm an angst whore. Two, WHY DO I ALWAYS HAVE TO TWEAK THE ICONS!? I make an icon, then say it's done, go back to it the next day, and add new things to it, making a new icon. You'll be able to tell from this icon batch, some of them are quite horrible, but some are quite good.

The good, the bad, and the ugly )

I just read Oscillate Wildly a couple of weeks ago. I thought the HP universe worked remarkably well in that dual reality format. I was a tad disappointed in how the author resolved Voldemort's attack, it was just too easy for the trio to get away from him. Overall, thought, it's a good read. The author's livejournal is ficbymarks. This her web site (There are NC-17 versions of H/D's two sex scenes in O.W. there). I haven't had a chance to read any of her other fics.

Have you read Draco by Trial by Thrintje? It's also a good angsty H/D. I thought the author did a great job describing their burgeoning relationship. It's actually one of the more realistic accounts I've read of how two former antagonists would deal with their growing friendship while trying to understand their growing sexual attraction. The plot is pretty bang up too. I read it straight through all in one night ( ... )

I agree with you completely. I was hoping for more of a Harry & Voldemort fight, and less Dumbledore. The scene in the Shrieking Shack was built up to lovely, but this was apart of the climax, and I was hoping they would be a little more to it. And thanks for the author username/site, I'll check it out.

Ah, Draco by Trial, how I love it so. I read that quite awhile ago, and I loved it. It's one of the few I still re-read (I'm not much for re-reading stories). I found it interesting how the story was told, Draco in the middle of his trail, and the flashbacks. People do this often, but I still really liked how it worked for this story. The characterization was wonderful, I loved it.

Darkside of Light is really nothing like Underwater Light. I'm not the biggest fan of Underwater Light either, I'm not a big fan of Harry/Draco friendships, but her writing isn't half-bad in UL, and in Darkside of Light, it's even better. Not many people can pull of fics that are practically all dialogue.

Hmm, maybe I'll read it this weekend, then. I intend spend the weekend catching up on my fanfic reading list. I can't even catch up with Pornish Pixies fantasy challenge entries.

Lol, thank you! Shoebox is brilliant, I love it.
I get my pictures from lots of places. Most of my PoA screencaps come from teh_indy. I also cap some myself, but lately my computer's been iffy.
