Damn, I hate being sick. I am just not good at laying down and letting myself be sick... *sighs* Anyway, I ignored my strep-throat and mild laryngitis and went to Sin City last night. And, oh, the discomfort was completely worth it!
SC is the most entertaining film I've seen since, hmm... Napolean Dynamite or Sideways (but for totally different reasons ^_^)! If you don't mind gratuitous violence, partial nudity and hilariously talking dead heads, you should definitely spend the $10 to see it. The plot was handled quite interestingly: it plays like a series of separate stories, just like the books, but they're all intertwined with each other in some way. I was quite pleased, as I was a little afraid of Hollywood dismembering (pun intended!) the original material. And the author, Frank Miller, even makes an appearance in it as well, which is so rad! I could go on for hours, but I don't want to spoil anything and no one really wants to hear me yada-yada-yada on about it, anyway ^_~. Since it was SO awesome I came home and made a little icon for it (If anyone wants it, please, take away! I only ask for a standard credit in the keywords ^_~). Marv's my new friggin' hero ^^
And, on a more sober note... Though I am not Catholic, I feel strangely compelled to mention the passing of the head of the Catholic church. Pope John Paul II: 1920-2005. RIP. :(
