Long story short, the girl was indeed awake, looked like she had been for quite sometime, seeing as she was disheveled, and bore dark circles under her eyes. Not exactly the picture of Holiday Cheer.

"Still awake," the fairy reported once she'd wriggled herself through the keyhole again. "I doubt she has even slept for a day or two."
"Hm, I already thought so," Soulfire replied softly. "I detected a lot of sorrow from her post. Maybe I can help her." The witch sighed, but then smiled warmly again and knocked on the door. If only she could help to lift the problems from the girl's shoulders...

She rose form the bed and checked ehrself in the mirror. 'God I look awful... I hope they don't ask me tons of questions...' She said to herself as she answered the door quietly, opening it just a little, only to stare mutely at a woman she'd never met before. She was sure she was a teacher or something because she looked vaguely familiar...

Her eyes gazed at the small girl, almost as if they wanted to look right through her to see what was going on in her mind. "We would like it if you could join and no one should spent Christmas alone. Of course, if you had other plans... You don't have to come."
