This is my translation of Project Zohar's summary of modified events in chapter 18.
Location: Old Miltia
Type of modification: New scenes + altered scenes
Importance: ***
- They don’t understand what is happening. Jin has the impression that they are being transported at a great speed towards a location. MOMO detects the destruction of the vessel that they’re in and tells everyone to activate their ES’ shields. A planet appears before them and KOS-MOS analyses it: it’s Old Miltia.
- As soon as they arrive safe and sound on the ground, Jr. understands Albedo’s plan: he created a battle between the Immigrant Fleet and the Salvators to be able to use their combat vessels as a booster(?) and therefore arrive at the planet first and get his hands on the Zohar. He waited for them to show them his plan with arrogance. Only the 2 U-TIC ES didn’t have to be a part of it. The only thing left to do is pursue him; he will naturally lead them to the Zohar. In his mind Jr. thinks to have understood Albedo’s true goal since he left the encephalon.
- After the battle against Vanderkam we see the 3 Testaments observing this entire nice, small world and dividing work. There are actually 3 groups of ES on Miltia: Shion’s, Richard and Hermann, and Albedo. The Red Testament wants to have Shion’s group but Virgil opposes him as he also has a score to settle with them. Red decides to take Albedo, the key for calling Abel’s Ark. The Black Testament takes the “good-for-nothings”. The Red Testament asks them to stay on guard in case he comes in contact with the other ES, especially if Yeshua is near.
- Upon approaching Labyrinthos Shion recognizes the tower. She remembers that she saw it at a very precise place in her memories: from her mother’s room. She then gets out of the ES Dinah and heads in that direction. On the way, strange memories return to her: Febronia is killed while protecting someone and Shion from Realians who have become crazy. Jin, for his part, knows that it is there where their parent’s bodies can be found and it’s for this reason that Shion won’t go pray before their parents’ empty grave on Second Miltia. Then he detects interference from an ES. Jin runs toward Shion who arrives at the Acute Neurosis Treatment Facility. She knows that her parents are buried there. Suddenly, the building crumbles and in the middle of the rubble ES Naphtali of the Blue Testament appears. Shion screams upon seeing her parents’ grave destroyed. Jin begs her to stay calm and guards from Labyrinthos arrive after hearing all the noise. The Blue Testament pulverises the guards in 2 seconds and Jr. wants to use this to take Shion to shelter. MOMO approaches Shion and Shion yells at her not to touch and calls her “realian”. Everyone is dumbfounded. All of a sudden, Shion remembers her final moments with her father. He seems to have protected her from a group of combat Realians called Asra 27. Shion then screams that Realians are the cause of the deaths of Feb, her father, and her mother. She doesn’t want to be touched by one of them. The Blue Testament is amused to see Shion’s mask fall. He explains to MOMO that this is Shion’s true heart and when she is driven into a corner she lets her true personality appear. But chaos intervenes. He understands the Testaments’ goal. They have something to accomplish before people come into contact with the Zohar. But they want to stop them until that happens. Of their own will, humans hide a part of themselves. But this isn’t a mask, it’s human nature. But the Testament smiles. Someone who isn’t human taking the liberty of giving a lecture on humans. But chaos is going to touch the sensitive spot: he knows that before becoming a Testament he was a human as well and he knows that he wanted to wear a mask to hide a part of him. The Blue Testament comes off his hinges and attacks. Shion isn’t in a fit state to fight so KOS-MOS stays by her side. During the battle Shion comes back aboard the Dinah. She apologizes to MOMO but confesses that this is her real personality. She tried to throw away her past. The Blue Testament intervenes. He congratulates her for her performance: in order to hide her hatred for Realians she threw herself into development and help for Realians. But MOMO interrupts. Why is this bad? To face the things we detest most to try perhaps to change? This behaviour is also part of humans. And he as a former human should be able to understand this, but of course he would need a soul to understand. The Blue Testament gets worked up and attacks them again. This time, they show that they are stronger than him. The Testament prefers to stop here. The first half of his objective has been attained. Next he will await Shion in the deepest room in Labyrinthos. Shion doesn’t understand, contrary to Jin who sees right away what he’s alluding to. The Testament leaves and Shion suggests to Jin that when they come back they should go to their parents’ grave.
- Albedo becomes aware that Jr. was also able to get to Miltia. Then the Red Testament appears before him. The fact that the Testaments are on the move signifies that a certain something should be close. He explains that Zarathustra could be a great interest for him. Albedo understands the goal of the Testament: to make him waste time before he makes it to the Zohar. Albedo is delighted to measure himself up to him in the ES beforehand.
- Richard and Hermann lost the trail of the other ES. Suddenly, the Black Testament appears before them. Quickly he mocks them and looks to provoke a fight. Richard, with his legendary calmness and patience, loses no time falling for it and the fight begins.
- During the analysis of Canaan’s data in Labyrinthos, Margulis intervenes and intends to stop them. Following the battle, Margulis retreats and Jin analyses the data. Information is found in it that Shion must not see (During the analysis additional information to the PS2 version appears and the data don’t allow Mizrahi to be freed from blame). The Immigrant Fleet originates from Lost Jerusalem and had brought the Zohar with them during their escape. They are also “the people of the Zohar”. Joachim Mizrahi is from Abraxas and there is a strong chance that he was also a part of the people of the Zohar. Understanding the risk that the Miltia incident will be repeated if the Immigrant Fleet get their hands on the Zohar again, Shion and the others go to find it.
- Before the Zohar and the bodies of Cecily and Cathe, Shion remembers them. When she was little the 3 of them played together and grew flowers for Feb. Then when KOS-MOS explains that there is no way to save them the Blue Testament makes his appearance and confirms what KOS-MOS is saying. He explains to Shion that only their consciousness was necessary to the system so they were put in this state so they couldn’t use their bodies. He asks Shion, she who detests Realians, to destroy them because she knows well that if she doesn’t then something horrible will happen. This should be easy for her, a true pleasure when one hates Realians. Then U-DO begins to make itself heard. KOS-MOS steps forward to destroy Cecily and Cathe, but Shion intervenes. While watching Shion, chaos thinks that she isn’t ready to support her destiny. Then Feb appears before Shion. She asks her to free her sisters. Shion asks her if another way to save them exists. She says that if she gets them to Third Division then maybe they can do something. Then Shion understands what Feb wants her to do. She wants Shion to do what she had always wanted to do herself. Shion understands Feb’s feelings and upon returning to reality she orders KOS-MOS to destroy Cecily and Cathe. Everyone is surprised by Shion’s reaction. The Blue Testament laughs while watching the scene: Shion proves her hatred for Realians and gives herself a moment of pleasure. But she explains herself: she wanted to relieve Feb. Upon hearing this name the Blue Testament is disturbed and sees an apparition of Febronia before him. He asks everyone if they saw or heard something. No one responds and he leaves. Immediately, a voice is heard. It’s Sergius XVII, the leader of the Immigrant Fleet.
- After the activation of Proto Omega, Jin understands that Ormus is the only one responsible for all that has happened on Miltia. He was a part of the descent operation on Miltia. His fleet was destroyed by Proto Omega when it functioned in time with the emulators. Ormus financed Mizrahi’s research but they made calculation errors in their plan and the unexpected occurred: the arrival of the gnosis and the awakening of U-DO. Mizrahi, understanding that he had been manipulated and his research was being used for villainous ends, decided to atone for his sins and sealed Miltia, the Zohar, and U-DO and confined the most important secrets of his research to his daughter. It is then that Pellegri, on board the ES Issachar, comes to protect Sergius. Jin is surprised to hear Pellegri’s voice. *He runs toward her and he immediately recognizes her. She seems to recognize him but doesn’t seem to want to talk with him. It seems she doesn’t understand the reasons for which he left them. With reluctance Jin and Pellegri confront each other once again. At the end of the battle Jin asks Pellegri to transmit to Margulis that he has no doubt anymore. Pellegri responds that he should do it himself.* In any case it is what Margulis wishes. She leaves and Labyrinthos begins to collapse. The ES used up all their energy fighting making it impossible to try to escape. But the Elsa, along with Allen, arrives and rescues them.
- After the destruction of Miltia, Shion asks herself why Nephilim asked her to go to Miltia. She received no response other than suffering…
I’m unsure of what exactly is happening in the part between the *’s. I translated it as best I could, but I don’t know if I got it quite right.
