I don't remember being teased so much...but then I had 5 brothers at the school...I DO remember being told I was a boy cause I don't like girly things...go figure!

I iove the original Star Wars because of my older brother...but yeah...this sux so much because kids take on the fears and opinions of their parents a lot of the time and I think the stereotypes are still out there.

This article is sad but not surprising...I am raising 3 girls (2 mine and 1 kind of surrogate) by myself and I am determined they won't be limited because people tell them they're girls!.

I'm glad you were obviously strong enough to hold on to what you love...*winks*...cause I KNOW you still have that princess Leia costume!!

*hugz*...oh and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Sammy banner...*drools on keyboard*

ahh thanks for the compliment on the Sammy banner, just giving him some love b/c lately it has not been pretty... LOL

Wow to you on raising 3 little girls and no matter what girls or boys like, children need support. I don't have kids, but I admire parents these days as there is so much going on in the world with kids and all the pressures. I can barely handle myself much less a child :) I'm a mix of loving girlie things and boy things. I know when people look at me all they see on the surface is a woman that loves clothes and sparkly things, but underneath the veneer there is a nerdy girl that adores sci-fi and gore and fast cars.

Sorry for the babbling before I go I loved your SPN REverse BB
the zombie story with power!Sam and Dean down in the bayou.
I apologize for not commenting with go do that later on, I need to catch up with those stories as I didn't even know this challenges was going on. I've been obsessed with The Vampire Diaries lately.

Take care of yourself and your lovely family!

I love that the mom is making a book of all the supportive responses to her post so that Katie can have something to boost her confidence. That's awesome.

Hi there chica! :)

I know! I enjoyed reading all the comments of the women stating how they loved Star Wars or were teased too and to just be herself and express herself. It's so sad on how bullying stories keep coming up in the news. I know that bullying has always been there, but it seems to be more extreme lately or parents and others are finally talking about it.

Take care as always!

Hope all is well with you :)
