Figuring out perspective involves lots of squinting and holding up the pencil at weird angles :P You're right, putting in stuff would make the kitchen more lived-in. Maybe I'll put the ducks and the salt and pepper in sometime.
That's the answer I was hoping for :D I like those two best as well :)
I'm not that fond of charcoal, because if you ever forget to be careful, everything ends up a big smudge :P It actually took me less time than the other still life, because the drapes aren't all that accurate. The colour choices actually evolved because I used a randomly lying around yellow t-shirt for the fabric and draped it in front of the blue book from the other still life. I hadn't planned to do a background (or any colour, really), but the contrast was so pretty :D
I made the porn while at a spa with my family, I was so paranoid about them seeing it that I drew with the pad cradled close, hunched over and jumped everytime somebody passed by. And the fountain pen that I drew the lines with is amazingly leaky.
I love the perspective! Perspective scares most artists, but you're just going for it and it looks great. I like the nail polish bottles, as well, the little highlights are fun to look at.
