drive by post because i'm exhausted: i really truly enjoy joan and sherlock's platonic relationship to a degree that exceeds some romantic partnerships in other shows.

i think i'm just a little tired of 'slap slap kiss' as a trope for leads in shows at the moment. sleepy hollow has snarky leads but they seem to genuinely like and respect one ( Read more... )

like, i don't think i've seen such a genuinely deep connection actually develop on screen outside of 'these two people who are going to fall in love down the road' type scenarios. i'm really liking it.

I don't actually watch Elementary, but I know exactly what you mean about awesome platonic relationships being more enjoyable than some romantic ships. I'm actually really enjoying Ichabod and Abbie as just friends and colleagues. And it disappoints me that there were ship wars for this show practically before the first episode even aired.

i can defs see them going down the romantic route a couple of seasons down the line, but i'm liking this trend of them being real friends (and co-savers of the world) before maybe (one day?) being more.
