Elizabeth
I've gone through the gamut of emotions since the news broke that we may not be seeing much of our Elizabeth next season. It's a bitter pill to swallow. I know it's only a tv show and she is just a character, but sometimes one comes along that just seems unique and they come to occupy a place in our hearts because they are so special. With Elizabeth it's a combination of how the character was conceived and how Torri brings her to life. Elizabeth is intelligent and caring as well as determined to make a difference in Atlantis. Torri brings all of that to the screen, and more. I always think what Elizabeth is feeling really shines through in Torri's eyes.
Who knows how this is all going to play out? Maybe the screen time Elizabeth gets will be so great in season 4 that we will laugh about this. Maybe we'll never see her again. Maybe the outcry over this will change some things for the better. Maybe not. Maybe J/E will confess their feelings before she leaves. They'd better! (ok, that was my little shipper heart) Maybe I'll keep watching the show. Maybe not. Only time will tell.
At the end of this day, all I know is this:
There are a lot of friendly people who are fans of Elizabeth. I hope I get the chance to know some of you better here on LJ.
There are a lot of talented people in the fandom. Regardless of what happens, I hope we continue to write, vid, make icons, etc.
There is a wonderful actress named Torri who will hopefully be gracing our lives for many years to come.
There is a leader of a lost city whose spirit will live on, no matter what happens. Her name is Elizabeth.
