Acquisitions

After work today I stopped at Value Village (resale store) and, as usual, was drawn like a magnet to the book section.
There I was surprised to find 31 TimeLife WWII books. Have you seen them at your library, maybe? Large hard-back books with striking b+w photographs on the covers and titles like Home Front: Germany, and The Soviet Juggernaut.  I've only read all the way through the one on spies, but have spent hours flipping through them looking at the photographs and reading a page here and there.

So, to make a long boring story short, I bought four of them for $1.99-$2.99 each, and then learned that buying four books entitles you to a fifth one free! Yay!  So now I have to find space on my shelves for The Resistance, Partisans and Guerrillas, Italy at War, The Italian Campaign, and China-Burma-India. And my family can kiss me goodbye for a few days.
