"Names of Authors and the Books They Wrote"

Aug 06, 2012 00:09

That was the title of one of my early reading lists. Heh.
So here is the book meme I mentioned in my last post. I'm filling it in just prior to midnight, so it's going to be as loose and informal as I ever get online... Expect grammar failings.

What is your favorite drink while reading?
Coffee with a lot of milk.
Not before bed, though. )

Ooh, yes, I can't write in books either. I never really highlighted school books (then again, usually my sister had already gone through them and rendered them rainbow-colored) and if I was told to write in a textbook, I did it in pencil so it could be easily erased. ;))

Wow, you're far more organized than I am. ;)) I am somewhat reassured, though, that you too have stacks of books waiting for space shelf. ;)

Should I give Legend a try? I believe the library has it, but there have been so many dystopian books lately that I haven't really delved into any of them. :)

(On a complete aside, where did you get the frame/mirror textures that you used in the following post?

They're really lovely and I was toying with the idea of seeing if I could use them for icons since I've never used frames before, but had no idea where to look. :) Thanks very much!)

I think Legend is probably worth a shot. : ) It's nothing ground-shattering, but it's entertaining and has its unique moments. The MC hero, for on thing. He's a guy! : P

Those textures are by crazydelight @ serene-infinity. *searches* Here's the post:

That whole community has closed now, but there are still a lot of really high-quality textures in there to discover! It's one of my main sources. (The other one would be NWeb!)
Oh, look! Here are more of those frame textures I'd never seen before! : D

I'll try to remember to pick it up then when I have a bit more time. :) Oooh, a guy MC? That's certainly less common!

Oh, thanks a ton! :D How cool. I'll keep that in mind for textures. :)

You should read Divergent by Veronica Roth. It is very good--and is almost as good as the Hunger Games.

I have! It is pretty good - the world building is pretty fun. Have you read the second one? (I didn't like that one as much)

Yes, I really like that bit of it. No, I didn't even know the second one was out yet--I will have to check it out!

f it's next to the Sutcliffs, then it's really good historical fiction.

LOL! --But what a wonderful way to sort them. I'd do that too if my Sutcliffs were a, together, and b if I remembered which books in my collection met that criteria... ;))

*notes down Empire of the Summer Sun for future reference*
