Kaiser yelled at me

So, I called Kaiser yesterday because when you're on a liquid diet you are supposed to be monitored by a doctor.  I haven't done that because Kaiser uses the optifast system and I don't have $3000 to spend on the program.  The program I have been using is through Sharp but you don't have to be a memeber to do it.  The upside is that is is way less ( Read more... )

While you're at it, I strongly suggest bringing up the nurse's behaviour. That was so very not ok.

You're actually the second person that told me to do that. I didn't make a formal complaint but I did tell the doctor about it.

I'm sure the doctor will say it's fine, but the 480 calories is probably why they get worried.

It's the same as anything else, they don't know how you'll react. They need to monitor the weight loss and take blood, and probably just see the stress it's doing to your body - since so far this is short term, you should be okay too.

The lab results will be back on Thursday. If I register on the kaiser website I can look them up then. The biggest concerns are liver and kidneys. Potassium levels should be fine because I drink so much SmartWater. That was a fun little tidbit to find out :o)

I love you dear, but can you blame them? You are eating under 500 calories, which is already unhealthy, and if you are going to continue it of course you should see a doctor. Low potassium can put u in cardiac arrest, I know I struggled with bulimia and anorexia for 1/2 my life. And once you become obsessive and that is all u can think about, that is a problem. So see your doctor and carry-on with the diet until u see him/her so u can get blood work and they can see how truly this is effecting your body, thus don't eat a whole hardcore meal so your blood work looks normal and then go back to the diet once u have sen them. I care, and I'm not saying u have or will have an eating disorder, but take care of yourself. I'm sure u feel light-headed and somewhat weak part of the time, and those are cues from your body and u should listen to them. Call me if you ever need to talk.

I don't blame her at all. I feel dumb for not do the math sooner. Things went well at the doctor. I do have increase my intake of course but I'm totally cool with that.

I am worried about an eating disorder because I know I have an obsessive personality and right now food is at the forefront of pretty much everything I think about.

I'll give you a cal later, maybe we can get together on one of your days off, I'd love to pick your brain.
