Hmmm.....

Y'know, for the umpteenth time I'm thinking about just ending this whole charade. I have no idea why I keep posting. No one even looks at this thing. Well, no one except Ithil. *hug* Maybe I keep on posting because I want someone to look at my "work". Or, maybe I have a wish to be depressed on a daily basis when I check on it and no one has ( Read more... )

Hrm...that sounds promising. *noddlz* Thanx, Ithil. I 'preciate it. As to what you did....it was a link I guess, instead of the <-lj-cut-> thing. "wallpapers" "calendars", etc. Something along those lines.

You have to do it because *you* love it, and not because you want or need comments. I'm wondering, are you cross-posting to different communities that embrace your fandoms? Or are you the zillionth person to make icons/banners/wps of those fandoms? I know that I've pretty much quit iconning Narnia because there are just so many people iconning those subjects one's work just gets lost in the torrent.

I always want comments, hon. Always. Good or bad. It's a necessity of my life, I guess. *hides* I'm never really sure how things look. Of course they're never quite "perfect" in my eyes, but I need a second opinion. As to cross-posting....I have no idea what that is or how to do it. I'd make icons of anything if I had someone who wanted/needed one. I have way too many pics on my computer NOT to, really. An entire HD filled with 'em.

Cross-posting, promoting, pimping, whatever people call it, but I meant posting an "advertisement" when you make a new batch. For instance at clean_icons, people post samples of what they have to offer, then link that post back to the particular post in their LJ. Of course, that's just for icons--are there Phantom of the Opera graphics communities?

I just icon stuff I like, then hunt down the places where people might appreciate them and post some samples.

If you want constructive criticism of your work, then you might consider joining one of the concrit communities. iconcrit comes to mind.

Hrm...I don't know how to do that, hon. *hides* I'm pretty savvy when it comes to computer stuff, can even handle CCS when necessary, but this LJ stuff has me stumped. I get easily confused. I visited the sites you mentioned and they look promising! Trouble is, I do much more than icons. In fact, I do WPs more often really. Nonetheless, I'd appreciate any info you could give me on HOW to post an "advertisement" like you mentioned. Joining the communities I can do. Doing advertising is something altogether different. *chuckle* Thanx for the info though. I DO appreciate it much. *hugz*
