This is the most fantastic thing I've seen all week, and maybe, maybe one person on the flist will appreciate it. Sad.
Yeah, I've been spending most of my free time lately on reading/watching/playing
Homestuck, and enjoying it enough to be stupidly excited about making rainbow cupcakes later. And I found ancient paste food coloring in one of the

And that's cool! I didn't know Pirate gave you a present baggy. That was nice of her. I'm glad you got to hang out with a new fandom friend and have fun. *pets*
Yay, for the robin. Smart birds are awesome. Also, what's Barricade Day?
Reply
You didn't? I was pretty sure I mentioned it to you, with the Toki-bunny bubbles and everything! *squeaks*
Barricade Day is the date in Les Mis in which most of the characters die horrible premature bloody deaths! Can be observed on June 5th or 6th or both by wearing red and black. Or with cake.

And nopes, I didn'ts. I remember you telling me you met Pirate, and hung out, and about the bunny and the owl, but I don't remember mention of baggy treats. You were probably too tired at the time to remember. Silly Lajy. *boops nose* ...also I admit why the bunny and owl reference would be funny didn't occur to me until just now. Is it because of Toki's and Skwisgaar's spirit animals? I thought Skwis's was an eagle or something though. *ams clueless*
And oh, that sounds pleasant. June 6th is Pickle's birthday over at Gear DQ. And this week in Chatklok there will be cake for him (and MM for her birthday). And Mordhaus's color themes are mostly red and black. You can celebrate that too on Wednesday!

Huhn, I was sure I mentioned treats...and Skwisgaar's spirit animal always looked like some kind of falcon-y thing to me, but an owl's close enough for giggles when a rabbit with a brown mustache is involved.
Oh boy! Lots of morbid red-and-black celebration!

But huzzah, somebody gets a reference in the entry! One of these years I'm going to make a cake.

We TOTALLY have to hang out more! I started reading Homestuck, but it was taking so much of my arting time I had to put it on hold. haha.

Yes, yes we do! ...and that's totally understandable, given how long it is. I've been working on it for months, and am only just finishing up Act 5 now. How far did you make it?

I'm always wanting to post but I am like... "what do I say?" and then "meh, finish it later."
My nephew got a bird feeder for Mom for mother's day and now he's upset because my cat likes to eat some of his birds. *facepalm* I seen her perched on the fence next to the feeder a couple of days ago. Would have made a great snapshot, but she moved the moment I got the camera out.

I'm usually all set to post until I actually have the computer on...then suddenly it just seems like too much of a hassle.
I have to admit, I get upset when the neighbors' cats try to treat our yard as a buffet...but our yard's pretty bird-friendly, and all of our birdfeeders are raised enough that it's tricky for cats to reach. And the cats are welcome to all the chipmunks they can eat. They just have to leave the birds alone. ...and bah, animals do that on purpose, I'm sure. Pepper holds the cutest poses, right up until I have the camera focusing.

You must take pictures of your cupcakes when they're made!
Hanging out with friends is indeed much fun. I'm glad it went awesomely!
Birds nesting is exciting! I don't think I've seen an actual birds' nest here since the hummingbirds made one a couple years ago or so. There were little tiny baby hummingbirds in the thing; you could see all the minuscule beaks poking out! So cute.
And robins are cool. We've had a lot of them here lately too! The other day, two male robins and a female stood on our deck railing and chirped. Good luck catching the egg-hatching!

I should go take pictures of them now, actually! I saved one specifically to slice it open and take a picture.
Thank you!
Ooh, I've never seen a real life hummingbird's nest! That would be adorable! We used to have song sparrows nesting in the shrub by the back door on a yearly basis, but chipmunks kept wiping the babies out (have I mentioned how much I hate chipmunks lately?). We usually have cardinals in one of the pine trees, too.
Thanks! I can see the nest itself if I stand in the middle of the yard and look up...maybe I can get a picture without bothering anything, if I use zoom and find the right angle.
