I am making a pilgrimage to Sephora tomorrow.

I will ONLY buy my lip gloss ball and my Smashbox eyeshadow.

That is all that I need.

I will not touch, look at, or think about any of their other fabulous products while I'm there.

That is all.

how to fight shopping temptation:

step 1: order online whenever possible!!!!!!!

i'm really bad about lush. thank god the nearest store is at mohegan sun.. so i just order their shampoo online and never get to touch and smell the tasty little pretty soaps and butters and oils and bowls of schlop. ::dreamy eyes::
i'm a sucker for anything that looks cool and smells good... like.. HARDCORE impulse buyer sucker?!

I'm the opposite, especially if there is a "spend $XX and get free shipping" deal... For instance, yarn. If I spend $50 at knitpicks.com, it ships for free. I can never browse there site to just get one thing or two. I always have to spend the $50 and end up with way more yarn or needles or whatever than I really needed for my project...

Yeah I've done more online shopping since I've been in VA. The shipping costs can really make you think twice.

Grad school really changed my tune about discretionary spending. Maybe because the way Minneapolis is set up I don't find myself walking by stores unless I've specifically made a trip to the mall, but in the past year I have gone shopping on a whim maybe twice. And that was this summer. (And one of them was Sephora, but I've never bought real makeup before so it was a big deal.)
