Well, I've got to be honest, I was reluctant to read this story; when I hear Africa and lions, I immediately think 'gruesome killings' but I decided to brave through it and was like, if there will be animals dying, just skip the part :)
BUT OOOOOOOOOOH WOW!!! I loved this story! You took SPN and placed it in the 19th century in Africa and Jess has a baby (awwww) and Sam as a bridge builder (dunno the correct term) and Dean then just appears and is all BAMF and ohhh Yellow Eyes possessing lions and WOW!!! this was seriously awesome story! I loved it! I never saw the movie, so I can't tell how much you took out of the movie, but I'm kinda glad I didn't watch it, because this was better; put those Winchester boys somewhere and that somewhere will become ten times more awesome! :))
I didn't even mind the gore and the death 'scenes', because they just fit into the story so amazingly, wow!
Thank you for the review, and I'm so glad you enjoyed this! The idea really just took hold of my brain, and it seemed like such a fun idea, I had to write it and share it. The movie has it's good points (the scenery of Africa is stunning a lot of the time, and the soundtrack is wonderful) but yes, the addition of the Winchesters makes it way better. :)
I haven't seen the movie, but I still thought it was great the way you managed to weave the SPN mythology into this other story. And I'm so glad Jess and the baby made it!
