On love-hate relationships…

Ahaha, your eyes aren’t deceiving you, my friends. This is another actual update… now pick your jaws off the floor. :l As usual, there are both good news and bad news to speak of, because that’s just how life is. I’d like to try updating my LJ more often this year, though, so that this thing actually gets used. I remember back in the day when ( Read more... )

Oh, the Harry Potter fandom is scary x_X I think it's why I can never seem to stay at this one messageboard for long before I move on xD; For me, it's "'Kay I'm gonna just sit over here and love it on my own kthnx" XD;

You know, I think it's funny. I've LJ RPed before (even run my own communities, between me and some friends anyway) but I've been at DDD longer than anything else xD Something 'bout the community I guess.

Oh, let me guess: the message board has a lot of wank and shipping wars?

The community rocks. :3 Trufax, hehe. Which ones were you at before?

Not really over the whole board, but there's clumps of it here and there. Other parts are this big close-knit community that kinda makes you feel more like an outsider than as a welcome new person. It just... didn't really fit with me xD;

Yes. DDD is love <3 Before DDD, I ran a couple Digimon RPs that faded off when the group went their different ways. Same for a Code Lyoko RP I was a part of once. I've also looked at other LJ RPs, but none of them really appealed to me like DDD does.

Mmm... I'm beginning to think that nothing is better than DDD, hehehe. <3 I've never felt more welcome in this comm than any other.

I wish we had Code Lyoko characters in DDD... ;_; We used to have a Jeremie and Aelita, but then they got dropped. Woe.

I have to admit, I don't find most large fandoms very appealing either.

It's kinda sad how I've only recently realized this about myself. :/ Kinda slow on the uptake, I guess, haha.

What fandoms are you into these days? I can tell you still dabble in Bloody Roar. ^_^

BTW, you're one of the strongest people I know. :3

Yeah, I'll always have a soft spot for Bloody Roar. It's still my biggest fandom. I dabble in a few others though, like Dynasty Warriors and Half-Life. I also like Saiyuki, but it's one of those big ones, so I try to saty on the outskirts of that fandom.

I don't know if you're familiar with Saiyuki, but a lot of people seem to like Sanzo and Goku together which just makes go ick.

BTW, you're one of the strongest people I know. :3

Thank you. =3

Mmm... BR is still one of my favorites, but not really prominent anymore. Nevertheless, I will never stop loving Uriko and Kenji. :3 It doesn't help that my favorite character in Naruto reminds me sooooo much of Kenji. >_>;

Nope... but I know Dynasty Warriors, hehe. ^_^

Harry Potter certainly is a strange beast. It seems to be the one glaring exception to the Law of Fan Jackassery, which states that the jackassery of fans increases with a fandom's obscurity until it hits a peak, and then declines. With Harry Potter being super-mainstream, it shouldn't have that high a proportion of jackasses. I think possibly the reason it's like this is that its fans are generally younger and thus more immature than most huge fandoms. They also tend to fracture more than most fandoms, so you've got many small nests each at the peak jackassery number. The result is a fandom you shouldn't touch with a 50-foot wand.

Ugh. Dear God. HP scares me. Just when you think you have seen everything... *shakes head* I hope the fandom will die down soon. Heh...

Even so, I hate that just a few people can practically ruin a whole fandom for others.

You are loved at DDD, hun. Just remember that. ♥ It's my first LJ RP too. 8D And I'm so glad that I joined it~

And the Naruto fandom? Hectic. I was interested in it for about a year, switching from pairing to pairing and revising my favorite character for months before I finally stuck on Ino for the final quarter of my obsession. Beware of those idiots who don't believe in character development without solid reasoning, though. .___.

And Naruto-mun wants me to get back into it, actually. xD I'm contemplating the idea, just because I think DDD needs an Ino.

And I love DDD too. ^_^ And you, of course, teehee! DDD is actually my second LJ RP, though, not my first.

Yeah... I'm allergic to idiots, so I try to keep about a 100-mile distance away from them. Maybe that's why I like focusing my attention on shipping GaaMatsu and not a hugely popular pairing, such as SasuSaku?

Ahhh, that would be cool! ^_^ I wish we could have ShikaIno at DDD. ;_;

proud_illusion July 1 2008, 22:32:29 UTC
xD Oh really? Well, that's interesting. ♥

Heh, I know how that is. I normally don't ship the big pairings, but I know some awesome people who do. I just don't like arguing with people who like them.

Ah, if only~ But I've RPed a fair amount of ShikaIno in the past. xD

The world needs more ShikaIno. :l It's funny that people expect me to ship ShikaTema because I like GaaMatsu, but lol, that is not the case. I really do like ShikaIno, but the ShikaIno and ShikaTema wars kinda scare me a lot. >_>;

omg, you updated. ♥♥♥

Not much to say other than I feel your aggravation in LJ RPs. I make a post and sometimes the reaction I get is quite baffling. Harry Potter is super huge, so I rather not get into it, but once in a while I write for it.

I think the best part of this post is that you're making new friends in a new fandom. That is quite a positive change in you.

Jujang!! <3

Despite being such a huge community, DDD has been so awesome to me from the start. They've really made me feel welcome. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the new one that I just joined.

^_^ Perhaps, but I hope that I can still keep friends from old fandoms too, ya know? I'm sorry to say that I haven't been able to read most of your entries lately because I don't login to this account very often. Please forgive me. ;_;

It's Rakka for the last two years now. xD ♥

I heard of DDD, and its reputation. Big groups tend to make me nervous. As for the new place, maybe you need time to settle in. I'm glad you have fun anywhere!

Aw, you don't have to read my rants. Not much of me have changed, other than I am affected by my father's death from lung cancer since 2006.

Rakka? Damn it, changing names on me, how dare you! ^_^

Oh, dear, if you ever wanna join DDD, let me know and I'll give you a warm welcome, hehe. We have a pretty big Tales cast at the comm.

...DDDDDDDDDDDDDDD: OMG I missed that... I'm so sorry...
