I had a rather out-of-the-ordinary experience today. I went to a Japanese Western-style wedding!! One of my favorite private students invited me to her sister's wedding for a variety of reasons. ARGGH! Gift-Giving Culture! On one hand, yeah they waived the fee and that's awesome and enough. On the other hand, not accepting gift they are getting you might seem very rude. I mean, I waiving the fee could be considered payment for the singing you did, but I'd imagine they still want (or just feel obligated) to get you gift. I'd pick something small and inexpensive...as much as possible.

Sounds like a terribly fun experience, even if you now are full of worry.
