LJ old!Default-esque layout.

LJ ticked me off with their changes last night, so I threw this together before I went to bed.

Details:

• Preview: Live preview currently at sailslayout02
• Account type: ALL, I think?
• Custom comment pages: YES. THAT WAS THE WHOLE POINT OF THIS.
• Friends/Archive/Subjects/Tags/Etc pages: Mostly. The layout base resisted styling. :P
• LJ controlstrip and contextual (user

Using it for a musebox thing!

One thing, though: When IP logging is on, it displays the IP address in the body of the message. It's kind of distracting and in the way. Is there a way to fix that other than not logging IP?

Aaaaand it cut off an entire thread in Firefox.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but on your longer-than-the-ones-I-tested-it-on thread there, what I'm finding in my Chrome is,

1. Comments simply won't expand past a certain point, and
2. when viewing one of those uncooperative comments in a new tab, it reverts to the new ugly LJ Default layout to do so.

For shorter threads, it seems to be working. 0_o

So after a couple attempts with style=mine from different accounts with other layouts, I'm still scratching my head. This doesn't look to be a CSS issue so much as a base layout issue -- Bloggish simply may not be suitable for this after all.

....In which case, I'm going to be getting back to work on tweaking the Style Contest layout I did up, to more closely resemble the old comments. Like, now. At least that one seems to be stable on longer comment threads. :/

Yeah, I disabled the custom comment pages so the page wouldn't cut off anymore. We're still using that page, you see. ^^;

The Style Contest layout has the same problem, I tried it too.

Actually, it looks like there may be some issues with it. You might want to pass on the other layout I did instead, until I can figure out what's up with this one, and more importantly, if it's fixable. :S
