Hi. I'm Nicole and these are my breasts. Go read my comic.

I was in the room while Mr. Bill was watching one of those soft news digest shows, and they were running a piece on a guy who makes art from license plates. The gallery that sells the majority of his work, hasn't taken in a new artist since Warhol, so of course the interviewer asked the owner what made them choose this artist ( Read more... )

Selling out is highly underrated, you know. If you want to do it, think of it as a means to an end....you have a product, in this case your webcomic, that you think people would enjoy, and you want them do read it. I'm not saying do it, you understand. I'm just saying if you want to, there's nothing wrong with it.

"Selling out is highly underrated, you know."

Heh heh. Very true!

I'm just kind of thinking out loud. It's entirely possible I'm over-thinking the whole thing. (Me? Over-think? NEVER!) I worry that if I did use a persona to sell the comic, I'd feel like a goober for posting narcissistic pictures of myself on the site. I forget just how little shame I have.

I basically just like talking as if I have a right to an opinion. Given I'm wearing cut-offs and the world's most depressing Aloha shirt, I'm probably not allowed to say how people should present themselves.

Wearing cut offs is an offence punishable by hanging. ladyattercop July 27 2007, 18:18:16 UTC
Ha ha!

It's not about what one wears, but how one wears it. Lounge and kitsch are very hip right now. If anyone questions you, tell them you're being ironic. d-:

I'm a huuuuuuuge fan of Flemcomics( esp the Jay storey line). I think the guy who dose it works full time and has given it up for the time being to write books. but i gather it was very popular in its day.

I cant remember how i stumbled across strange fiction. However i do know that i've not seen it advretised any where else...perhaps you should do a load of online pimping? y'know make myspace profiles for each of your characters, set up a forum where fans can talk about your stuff( flem has a LJ group), there are loads of things you can do to improve the volume of your fan base befor you go dedicating yourself to it full time.

Good luck either way!

Thanks!

Honestly, I don't know how you found SF either. d-: I've NEVER done any advertising. It's listed on a handful of the web comic sites, but I think the majority of my readers come from either Goth.net, Eyeskream, or find me on the wilds of MySpace somehow.

::puts on a big hat with a bigger feather:: Time to get pimping.

I love your user pic, by the by. Strangers in Paradise amazing. It's awesomeness with a side of awesome sauce.

I have no idea where i got my icon , i use use it mostly for when i'm slaggin off people IRL on my LJ. I feel it makes the entry even more taunting. :D But if youre doing new icons for SF i may just be a sad fangirl and pinch one ( ... )

Heh. I guess you wouldn't get too many people from South or Central America in England, would you? d-: Here in south Florida, it's weird when to meet someone from Spain. "Your name is Miguel Rodriguez? But ... but ... but ... you're white! Are you Cuban?" (There are a lot of fair skinned Cubans.) We're pretty diverse down here. As a white girl, I'm definitely in the minority in my neighborhood. I went to college in Northern Florida, and it was weird attending a school that was almost entirely white. The first time I walked into the dining hall, and saw a sea of blond heads, I felt distinctly out of place. LOL ( ... )
