Ooh, I'm likin' the pictures. I've been a long-time reader of Sherlock Holmes, too. To this day The Hound of the Baskervilles gives me shivers, in a way that very few things ever have.

I love Sherlock Holmes, though I haven't read any of the stories for a long time. But I always loved the mystery, and then at the end Holmes would matter of factly and in detail tell you how he figured out the case. Really cool.

I love Holmes. And if you want dark and mysterious, may I suggest "The Monks of Monk Hall" by George Lippard. Written in 1844, lots of dark, lots of villainy.
