Card weaving loom

Nov 02, 2009 11:04

Does anyone happen to have good information on building your own card weaving loom? I am specifically looking for information on a large one, but info on a smaller one could work as well (I'd just have to tweak the design).

Or...any good sources I can look at?

I know how to make one out of copper pipe that can double as an inkle loom. I also desperately need to put together a handout, so if you'd like the info, that would be just the kick in the pants I need to get it together.

Although I'll be doing mine out of wood...any info you are willing to share will likely be helpful. :)

I'm clueless when it comes to wood, which is part of the reason I made mine out of pipe.

That works. :) I can't find mine (yet) to reverse engineer it, so looking at yours would help. And if it's bigger than the one I have, even better. I want some serious yardage on my new loom.

I has ideas... :)

What kind of yardage?? And I could email you a photo of the on I have, which is from Ivan's class to give you some ideas at least. It's from about 4 years ago that I took it and still has the thread from that class. But I am getting back to ARTS after this weekend!!

Something that could go up to 20 yards would be downright orgasmic. Something that goes up to 10 would be a minimum. :)
