Actually, after seeing your post in poor_skills, I thought maybe you could use a friend. :)
I've been chastised there myself before too, for questions VERY similar to yours when I lost my job a few years back. It's tough, and it sux, but there are a FEW friendly folks around that actually ARE helpful and friendly, and I wanted you to know that......
