LJ Killed my Post! That Bastard!

I had typed up an entire entry. I hit post and LJ ate it. Damn it! It was a very deep post on the nature of apology in our culture today. I really wanted to post about it, but I'm not rewriting it right now. It wasn't super long, but it took me over an hour to actually put my houghts down in a clear and concise way that got all my points across. LJ

howdy. It's been a couple months since this post, but in case you still need input, I use Semagic. I don't know if it's better or worse than any other program, but it does the job.

Now, I don't know if I had to do some special setting, but even if I post from the web, LJ auto-saves my entry often. If I accidentally close the window or something, the next time I try to post an entry, I get a popup asking me if I want to restore from the saved draft. This has actually been happening even after I post the entry. which isn't to say it works this way for you. but maybe?
