Kailee's Birthday

Aug 27, 2004 15:11

Today is my little darling's 4th birthday. She is excited but not as much as I thought she would be. Yesterday she was sneezing and today she is still but also has a runny nose and feeling a little warm. Poor thing hardly ever gets sick and now she is on her birthday. I feel so bad for her. Though when she is sick she is normally a lot calmer and ( Read more... )

Happy Birthday, Kailee bluescottygirl August 27 2004, 16:45:47 UTC
So it's not just me then that relives the birth every year? Actually, I have a small ritual I do every birthday. Somewhere online there is a post (to one of those parenting sites) describing DD2s birth and every year I go searching for it, I never actually KEEP the link, it's part of my ritual to seek it out. Then I sit and read it in a quiet moment. The SJM has a ritual too, I get flowers on the girls birthdays *grins* he's such a sweetie.
I love my girls birthdays but like you, I find myself wondering how on earth they're growing up so fast, thank goodness for video cameras!

I don't have a ritual of any sort. Just merely retrace the steps. What might have happen at a said moment. Though I was in labor overnight and she was a morning baby so I am alseep, if I am lucky, and don't do a play by play reactment. ~laughs~ Just the miracle of it all and how it changed my life forever. I am happy to see I am not alone in that annual routine.

I have noticed though that once I had my daughter that I have a whole new outlook on birthdays and how special they are. I now go out of my way to give birthday greetings, send a card, whether through snail mail or email, to wish someone a Happy Birthday.

Sixteen? I am not looking forward to that at all. I want her to stay little....let's say 4-7....that is normally when they still love their parents....before the dreaded attitude and that Mommy and Daddy know nothing phase. ~giggles~

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAILEE!

It is so fun watching them grow up. It is funny when they are babies you can't wait for them to grow and see how they turn out.......but then they grow and you wish they were still babies.

I guess that is how human nature works. It is fun to see how they blossom into their ownselves and ideas. Yet you yearn for the innocence of the baby. I guess it is safe to say that the grass is always greener on the other side. ~laughs~
