After a weekend of hip pain, and failing to get to Reptile, I dosed up and dressed up, and made it to the Screaming Banshee Aircrew/Luxury Stranger/Hindley gig at the Turtle. Despite the outfit trauma and pain, I'm glad I did

I'm sorry we didn't make it - we'd been up in Nottingham for a party and didn't hit London again until late on Sunday evening, and were too knackered to go out again.
It's not just when he's on stage I can't speak though! I was like it with David for years - hence the reason we've only just managed to fall head over heels in love :-)

Sunday night is a hard time to get people out almost anywhere. London is decidedly finicky about going out at the best of times. I would have liked to have gone, but on a school night after a busy weekend....
I think we're just spoiled. It reminds me of Brum in the 90's. Yes, we went to the Brum goth things every week. If there was a gig we went there too. A few brave souls ventured out further afield.
However the goths who lived further afield (Cov, Wolves etc) went to their 'once a month we do goth' local things *and* made the effort to come to a lot of the Brum things, despite having a lot further to come.
London's the same in extreme. Buses and tubes every 2 minutes, but we can't quite make it out of the door...
Bugger. Had been intending to go (I even had both cameras with me!), but we were too knackered after several hours being stuck in traffic to even call in at the venue. Bah. Going to the Red Stripe thang, though.

I agree with you that they do put in a great performance even to a small audience.
