I was lying in a pool of bubbles like a slightly drowned beetle, recognising my predicament and considering my options. I'd opted for a bubble bath, with my plaster-casted leg hanging out in a languid 1920's, 'I can do this baby' style; only slightly marred by 10 yards of bin bag and gaffa tape

Stool + shower?

I highlty recommend a shower stool

(won't rust) and allows you to take a sitting down shower providing it fits in your shower. Will allow you to get clean without smashing your cast !

Product dispensing is a pretty technical business, you need one hand to squeeze the bottle and one hand to catch the goop,

Tip of the day is to get small (non-breakable) containers with the products already squeezed out before you start.

Oh you poor thing, sounds like you have really been through it. You just don't realise how much you need your ankle/foot until you can't use it...!
