Oh LJ I need a wail, and despite the sorry state of my life it's a very basic wail My body. My misbehaving, intolerant-as-a-Tory, body

It could be the protein in the milk you are intolerant of rather than the lactose. Calcium is in lots of non dairy things, one good source is tinned fish like mackerel with the soft bones, or kippers. I hope you get to the bottom of it soon!
Hello! Long long time no see. I have no advice on allergies to offer, but would like to say that I don't believe for a moment anyone except you sees hugeness or fatness. Rice milk? Oatley cream is useable for cooking, and some people like the stuff to drink. I found it a bit thin and pointless, tho, which after the rave review I'd seen was sad making.
There is also almond milk, which I've never tried.
You could be allergic to the caseins, not the lactose. I seem to remember that the Cat who used to live with misthawk and Guy had that, they might know more
I used to get the vanilla and the ordinary rice milk when I did the diet of doom (that exclusion diet that lasted 3 months and included no soy and no dairy). Vanilla gave a bit of dessert flavour to breakfast porridge.
Just in case you're not already aware, there are many alternatives to milk - based on rice, hazelnuts, almonds, and so on; but you'll need to hunt them down in the supermarket or find a "proper" health food shop.
Also - "fat", "HUGE"? I haven't seen you for quite a while but I suspect this isn't actually true. Take some measurements and keep track, I find that helps to see what you're really like....
