explain some things to me here

I was at a craft store the weekend before last, attempting to match yarn to a sweater. Next to my aisle, there was a couple in the Halloween decoration section, loaded up with cheap Halloween crap and selecting more. The man was holding a large styrofoam tombstone, and giving his girlfriend a hard time. She was trying to help him choose another,

Last I knew, Halloween decorations just make the place look cool, not put food on the table.

Don't get me wrong. I enjoy seeing peoples houses dolled up for Halloween, Christmas, and other seasonal or holiday occasions, but deeming a second decoration a waste of money when you're already spending "fun" money, seems a misnomer.

So, yes... I agree. Not necessarily stupid, but it would work under the term "redundant".

Sorry, I get it with explanation. I wonder if the emphasis on "waste of money" didn't get translated clearly in the relating of the story? If the dumbass focused on that, maybe it stuck in your head but didn't get through your mouth the same way to other people?
