Nice costume choices. Wasn't Carlotta dressesd as a peacock in the Robert Englund movie?
I would actually take a bit of leap with Erik's Red Death costume and make it more 17th Century since that's around the time that Poe's story took place. I think that's around the time the Red was running rampant too. I could be wrong. I could be getting my stories and plagues all mixed up.
Can't help myself. I'm a costumer. I always have to throw in my two cents about costume designs. :)
I forget what Carlotta wore in the Englund film...I do know that the mean stepsister in "Ever After" went to the climactic masque as a peacock, though.
17th century...hmmm, would depend on when. The early part of the century leaned toward ruffs, which has never been a favorite costume choice of mine, particularly on men. The cavalier style could work, though. The vaguely Regency/Empire thing Butler wore did nothing for me--I think the style was too restrained for the monochromatic color scheme.

I adore Regency on the right man (Colin Firth, Alan Rickman), but for Red Death. Eww, no...especially with the Wal-Mart Skeletor mask.
