It was a very low-key day. Holidays mostly make me sad. I miss my family, and holidays are for family. So I dozed with the cats and kind of ignored it. I used to love holidays. Not so much anymore. But I watched some of the fireworks from the front walk.
Well, I think that your feeling of nostalgia is shared by a lot of people: nobody can't escape from the changes the time makes on us and all around our environment and people we love, anyone of us with our own loses and personal experiences :S *hugs*
Oh, I know my feelings are far from unique. Having never married, never having kids, it's just me. Extended family get-togethers really don't exist anymore as the people are mostly gone. There are two elderly aunts, one cousin and her teenage daughter, and me. It isn't fun. Wow--this sounds like a self-pity party, and that wasn't my intent. Anyway, "regular" days are fine. Family holidays, not so much.
I was worried. So was Jim. I was about ready to get in the car and just drive down and kidnap you for a couple of days. Typing on the tiny keyboard--will talk with you later.
