Once upon a time... that's how things start, isn't it? Finally have a new place to live, and am slowly getting it set up to be home. I had forgotten how much I like to "nest". I have bought a few things and am only bringing in what fits and nothing more. The cluttered life is behind me. I read somewhere that your home is an accurate reflection of ( Read more... )

I am so attached to stuff, even if it's new to me stuff that's hardly useful at all! I need to do what you've done, get the courage to clear it out.

One day I told my dear husband: "It's such a mess. Look around the house, in the woodshed, in the greenhouse, in every room of the house! It's just overwhelming!"

He responded, "Let's move!"

What a sport. I guess you did just that!

Yes I did just that. The decision was not easy as it was the house I had bought with my late husband and my son was raised there. So many memories... I have spent the last 20 years taking care of others and not taking care of me, so the time came to take care of myself and that included needing money to live on while I get my health back. I would have stayed in that house forever, especially after all the work we did (it was how I had always wanted it to be in the end) but life happens so you move on. I have always been a keeper of things and so is my son. My husband was one, too. I have a whole library of books he made me promise to keep for our son and lots of other stuff, too. Some days as I threw things out I was in tears, somedays it seemed like a load being lifted. It was by far my greatest challenge.
