·         Successfully cleared and planted 250 sq ft of a veggie garden (small but just right for me and Chaz)
·         Finally completed the re-do of the front yard… the whole thing included tearing up of the concrete/ stone sidewalk ( Read more... )

Yay! I'm so looking forward to seeing you!

And hey, if you feel the need to continue landscaping, I'll be happy to put you up for a while. :) Of course, what my yard needs is terracing. Oi.

Oooo, terracing is going to be interesting! I thought about trying to tackle a small wall to make my yard level but decided it would be too big of a project...

How steep is your yard? i.e., how many terraces? I'm a curious cat now!

Wow, you've gotten so much done! Way to go.

droid18 and I have a huge garden in the backyard of the new house, but I told him that if we tried to do anything with it this year, I would kill myself. I don't need another project!!! But next year I would like to at least plant some herbs and tomatoes.

That was me last year- I saw the yard, but was too darn tired to do anything about it. On the other hand, I got to see it in all it's seasons and that also allowed me to figure out what i wanted to do with it, and get a plan together, and that made actually doing the projects so much easier... I say. just enjoy your yard, do the bare minimum to keep it up (mowing grass, etc), and just pay attention to how the sunlight falls over the next few months and if you have any fall or summer bulbs come up, etc.

This year the house was finally in enough of a status quo that I could attempt the yard... although in all honesty, I had one project too many... should have been azaleas and veggies, or azaleas and front yard, or front yard and veggies... But now that it's done, I am sooooo happy!!

WOW! So ambitious! I wish I had that kind of initiative to do stuff around the house!

I had a great time hanging out with Julie, and my meeting was very successful. I'm glad to be back home for a while, though! As far as I know, I'm not traveling again until August.

Travelling for work can be fun or totally stressful depending on when and how it falls. I was scheduled to travel to Arizona, and was excited, then found out to get there and do what I needed to do I was going to have to pay someoen to teach my dance classes ($100), miss a dance recital (not mine, but one I really wanted to see), and possibly miss dress rehearsal (that would have been bad)... thank goodness the trip just got cancelled! I was all for it, and had it been the week before that, it would have worked out wonderfully...
