Poem: For Brooke

Sep 13, 2012 19:53

She says:
I can't hear the music anymore
All this shouting has drowned it out
And there's nowhere for me to hide anymore
All the places I go have locked me out.

And I say:
Breathe.
And know I am helpless
And can't stop the pain.
But my heart bleeds, because hers does.

That's beautiful, evocative in a very few words. I especially love your opening line.
