Hahah, I haven't use this thing in years...
...but I want a place to try and find people to talk about KHR with and thought this was the best choice even though I know next to no one on here anymore. lol;;
So back in...September I think it was Ewim ( nire-chan.deviantart.com ) got me to finally read Katekyo Hitman Reborn ( in exchange for her reading From Eroica with Love which was the only series I was reading at the time; it was not a fair trade ~w~; ) and I've been hooked since. I can safely say that it is all Gokudera's fault too. 8| I have been obsessed with that boy (and subsequently 5927) from the beginning, I swear... I've never been good at describing things, but I definitely can't really put into words just why I think I love Gokudera's character more than probably any other character I've read in the fifteen or more years I've been into anime and manga. ._. There's just this mix of dork, spaz, fanboy, and incredible loyalty among other traits that just makes me like him so much.
I started reading not really knowing what I was getting myself into, and the style was something I wasn't used to after only reading Eroica for so long. xD; The antics of the Daily Life arc and the various character introductions made the beginning of the manga (I still haven’t watched most of the anime since I have to watch it on my Wii or my mom’s ancient laptop since this laptop has no sound, and my connection likes to die a lot, so loading even YouTube-length stuff is not easy. x_x; ) not quite as long as it would have seemed otherwise (at least to me anyway). Like I said, right off I already loved Gokudera and probably more than someone who was twice his age at the time should, especially considering he’s a fictional character, but I was also drawn to Ryohei. Varia arc came along and I found I liked Squalo (and Lussuria but he doesn’t fit into the grouping) the most out of that group too. What is with me and loud, dorky, obsessive, silver-haired (and almost all eyed) guys in this series? I don’t even know.
KHR definitely has a plethora of characters to choose from though. Amano is very good at that and plot development ideas that seemingly come out of left field yet fit into the overall story. Pretty much everything that happens in the series is for a reason apparently. Ewim and JessRE ( jotaku.deviantart.com ) can attest to (if they even remember anyway, hahah...) the number of times I wondered when Lancia’s ring was going to come back into play since it was powerful enough for a Mosca to sense, then, finally, it ends up saving Tsuna’s life. xD Makes me wonder what Lancia’s doing right now if he’s still alive (which of course I hope he is). I hope he’s just helping out the family in Italy or something, like helping watch over Iemitsu and Nana or something. Maybe he could (have) become part of the CEDEF? He could partner up with Basil. ~w~; *will admit she likes LanciaBasil since they could probably get along well even though they were only seen together before they went back to Italy after the Ring battles ended..;;* Makes me wonder where Shamal is too although I can easily see him being dead, which I don’t want either (despite wanting to kick him in the face more often than not) but I can see since he probably could have easily used one of his mosquitoes to kill Byakuran. ._.
Latest chapters have reminded me of some things I’ve been thinking about since the beginning of the TYL arc too.
- Reborn’s there with the Sun pacifier from the past, but TYL!Reborn’s pacifier is there too right? So why hasn’t anything happened because of that? Shouldn’t it throw the Trinisette off balance or something? ._. And Uni’s reviving the other Arcobaleno, but doesn’t the past Reborn being there mean TYL!Reborn isn’t being...reborn (lol)? Now I wonder if his name is going to come into play as some sort of plot device. xD I can’t see it actually being his real name for that matter though.
- I do not envy TYL!Tsuna at all. I can see why only the three of them seemed to know of their plan though since 1) the fewer people who knew the safer it would be for Shouichi, 2) Hibari’s strength and position as the family’s Cloud Guardian placed him in a great spot to be included in this plan, and 3) the family’s reaction to Tsuna’s “death” had to be as realistic as possible to not leave suspicions, but he has a LOT of explaining to do when this is over (especially to Gokudera).
- Speaking of explaining, Yamamoto better be talking when this is over. :| And Bianchi too since she never got to tell Gokudera whatever she had to say. And Dino as well for that matter since he seems to know so much even in the past (Didn’t Hibari mention Dino knew how to use the rings and told him how before he even came to the future? And Dino also said the “real” Mukuro would be coming soon, didn’t he, back when they were running after Choice?).
- And then speaking of Yamamoto, I think I still feel bad for him the most despite having several characters ranking (and damn if that word didn’t make me immediately think of Fuuta xD; I truly am hopeless...;;; ) higher on my favorite characters list. Tsuna’s not actually dead now, and thank goodness Squalo didn’t die, but his dad and Reborn are still dead (for all that we know anyway). :c It seems weird that he lost two people close to him and no one else did/has (again for all that we know anyway).
- Ever since seeing Giotto for the first time I’ve wondered if they’re all reincarnations of their first generation counterparts. Mukuro’s already brought up the subject of reincarnation, and they all seem WAY too much like the first ring bearers to be coincidental only, so it’s not NOT a possibility. :I
- I think Kikyou is the only Wreath I don’t just hate outright or at least can’t stand. He was creepy with the Spinosaurus heads, but the fact that he was conversing with the Vongola during the time with Ghost like they’re not MORTAL ENEMIES was hilarious to me. Then when Byakuran showed up he was all, “Byakuran-sama!” again. Just pick a side already. xD Though I’m reminded that the other Mare rings are either scattered about the battle ground or who knows where knowing Hibari (hopefully Dino has it xD; ). The Mist Mare ring is MIA completely though. Makes me wonder if some of the missing characters will come along and pick them up (Maybe as part of the final battle even though it’s been the “final” battle for several chapters and battles now lol? Ffff...who knows.).
- For some reason it amuses me that after Tsuna tore Byakuran’s wings off (which was EXTREMELY AWESOME by the way and that boot kick to the head made me laugh really loudly mostly because I hate Byakuran more than almost any character I’ve come across other than Sasuke that I can think of) that he now seems to have ones made of his own blood... 1) EW! And 2) Should he not have bled out by already? xD
- Spanner where are you? 8I I believe he’s the only one we haven’t seen since Yamamoto and the others showed up again. I’d like to think he’s over by Shouichi (Yes, I’m a SpannerShou fan too.), but I also like to think he’s building some sort of badass weapon that will help in this whole situation. I think it would be epic if HE was the one to save everyone’s asses after all of this, although I’m sure that won’t happen. ~w~
- Gokudera and Gamma could be bffs, I swear. xD What with their obsessiveness over (and love for) their bosses and reactions to anyone who annoys them I think they could get along great if they’d met before this whole Millefiore fiasco started. They’ve (or at least Tsuna I think; I still need to watch the Trials mini-arc) met Aria already, but they need to befriend Gamma, Tozaru, and Nosaru again. Something for them to do when they return to the past, along with finding Spanner and Fran and befriending them and Shouichi again too.
- What’s up with Kawahira though? At first I thought he might have been Chikusa disguising himself with a Mist ring, but now I don’t know what to think. I hope he doesn’t end up being a bad guy since he’s close to I-pin apparently and Reborn didn’t like him enough that he pointed a gun at him. ._.
Ok, I think I’ve rambled enough. I’ll probably start doing weekly updates with each new chapter because only having two people to rant to/with kind of...extremely sucks. xD; At least here I can get it down and maybe find some new people to talk with.
279 was one of the few chapters that left me felling really sad at the end. :c Gamma and Uni are now BOTH dead? Although we’ve only seen one person actually die in front of us so far, so there’s still hope despite that the Sky’s can sacrifice themselves to revive the rest of the Arcobaleno right? ._. I hope so anyway. At least when they get back to the past they can try to make sure none of this happens again, although that will likely consist of someone (most likely Reborn) killing the Byakuran of the present.
I wonder what the next arc will bring. Will Amano finally bring Longchamp back? What’s Mukuro been up to in the past since he was the only one of them left back there? What will they be able to do with the unlocked rings since I doubt they’ll be able to take their boxes with them since they would make them probably constant targets of rival families (and Verde even though ironically he was one of their creators) who want the technology? Will we finally meet Yamamoto’s mom and Hibari’s and Ryohei and Kyoko’s parents? Asking these questions makes me think of DBZ previews to the next episode. xD;
Finally, if they really ARE making a Primo arc in the anime, I have to find a way to watch them, because hot Primo generation animated = MAJOR YES PLZ! D:
