I have absolutely NO CLUE about these things, so I ask: Won't more of these eventually be made? I mean, this isn't like a concert ticket where you run out of seats. Won't the manufacturer eventually make more of these things and sell them at stores again since people seem to want them?

Yes, In fact many companies such as EB Games, Wal-mart and Best-Buy only sold a small portion of thier intial invoice so as to have plenty for the christmas season.
Its all a stupid marketing tactic to drive up the release date sales.

OK. So, knowing that there would be more PS3's forthcoming, why would some people actually pay some ridiculous price to some asshole buying up all the PS3's? I mean, it's one thing to get screwed, it's another level to shove the screw up your own ass? The only thing I can think of is to "Get it now". There has got to be a better reason, right?

How much do these things cost at the store?

Sorry to ask you how these people are thinking, but I know NOTHING about this whole phenomenon. I am from another era and obvioulsy missing something here.
