I've been diagnosed with a severe case of gallstones (or as they're known by the medical term, OHMYGODTHEPAIN). This is a not-uncommon side effect of Gastric Bypass, but apparently I have a nasty case. The doctor examining me actually called my gall bladder "rotten ( Read more... )

My sympathies. gridlore just finished his first week back at work post-removal; they were able to do it as an outpatient procedure, mercifully. (There was a distinct chance they wouldn't be able to do it laproscopically, depending on how much scar tissue and adhesion was left from when his spleen came out in '95.)

Is swallowing medication as big an issue for lap-band patients as it is for RNY recipients?

Oh, dear! Sounds like no fun at all. You know britgeekgrrl, right? She had gallstones too, last year I think.

My thoughts are with you. I had mine out, and it drastically improved my life (no attacks!). Back to normal within 10 days.
