I will call people on that. If we're friends (or family), we'll discuss it and if I see them making a genuine effort to cope and stop, fine.
If they clearly don't get it, or won't acknowledge it, we're done. We've lost friend a friend or two over the years because we gave them the boot after continuing to deal with the passive-aggressive bullshit. We called them on it, and told them to fuck off.
My tolerance for it is far lower than it used to be. When I see it, I put the smackdown on it immediately. And if it continues, I'm done. In far less time than I used to let it go. I'm done giving people chances on that one. I have enough drama in my life without other people creating their own.
