It's only sorta my fault, really. I use hotmail, and after you sign out, you're automatically redirected to msn.com. This is mostly the only news exposure I get, and I only click on article stubs/headlines that interest me

I usually don't follow country music but this Miley Cyrus thing has been all over the place. The media makes it sound like she was doing porn for gods sake, the photos were tasteful and not overdone at all. I agree its time to dump the hannah montana BS and be Miley Cyrus granted all that money disney been giving her....
With all the pervs out there today, a 15 year old doesn't need to expose themselves the way she did.
Maybe if she were 18, I wouldn't have a problem with it, but would you let your 15 year old pose like that? I wouldn't. Artsy or not. A 15 year old shouldn't show nudity like that. I'm sorry. And yes, she should grow up, but there's other ways of doing that. Not exposing your 15 year old body like that. Pics like that encourage the pedophiles. :(
sorry, but that's bullshit.ladydraykonaMay 4 2008, 12:24:28 UTC
What exposure? did you see any boobs? was she doing a basic instinct scene? no. It was a middrift and a back. nothing worse than wearing a backless dress to an award show.
And pedophiles don't go for teenagers. That's what makes them creepy.
If i had a 15 year old who was popular enough to be in vanity fair, I'd let her take pictures "like that", yeah.

I think that a pose like that invites sexual thoughts about the subject---pedophile or no, I imagine. It is the same thing with backless dresses at an awards show or walking around in a bikini. We don't think twice when it's a 22-year-old, but 15 makes us pause. I suppose the the material point is would be, is 15 an age that girls should be having sex? Disney has previously marketed her as a child. All I think this does is change the packaging into "adult." If she were dressed in Tigger pajamas and topless, that would be targeting pedophiles.

Its all a matter of opinion. Sometimes you don't need full out nudity to make it...yeah. Without getting into TMI, you ask guys if they would prefer a hint of nudity as to opposed to full out nudity (as they get older) and I bet they'd say a hint of (why do you think they make skimpy lingerie?) She's too young to look like that. Problem with our society today? We're too busy trying to get our kids to grow up too fast. We're not allowing them time to just be kids. And while that may have been considered arsty? Its something very adult. And she's not an adult. I have neices, and goddaughters that look up to her that are 4-6 years old. You're telling me its okay for a FOUR year old to do something like that?
I think not.
And hmmmm. Why do so many pervs get busted on the internet for talking to 13 through 16 year olds? Oh yeah. because even the law recognizes the fact that teens shouldn't be acting like adults yet.
But I have my opinion, you have yours. We can agree to disagree.
