He glances down at the golden glow emanating from his hand, the hand gripping the lever that will send them to safety and even though he knew it would happen the moment he touched his lips to hers, removing time vortex from her body it still comes as a shock.  This is it, he is going but more to the point he is going from her, from his Rose.

Oh poor Nine.

I like that he did everything he could to ensure that Rose was loved by his future incarnations, mixed blessing as it may have been for Ten in the end (loving her and then ultimately losing her twice).

This is beautifully written, and a beautiful fic. *sigh* This is my fave part:

he is in love with the human child asleep where he has carefully placed her on the metal grating of the TARDIS floor. It is a cruel irony that only now as this life is over his brain has allowed him to put a name to all the emotions he has.

This was just lovely, a wonderful look into the process of creating Ten. I always thought that Nine was very focused on his love for Rose during those final moments and that is what caused Ten to be the way he was. I loved it.

I share the opinion of all the above lj members. Nine made sure that Ten would love her and I don't think he will ever forget her no matter how many regenerations are to come.
