Spring Fever...

... is a funny term to a German speaker, because (at least as far as my familiarity with English goes) it implies exactly the opposite of the German term (Frühjahrsmüdigkeit, literally Spring Tiredness or Spring Fatigue), and it's the latter that seems to be hitting me currently. I can't stop yawning and it's impossible to drink enough tea to ( Read more... )

I haven't said much in the Silm re-read either, mostly just read along, but I'd love to read your comments.
Good luck with the second B2MeM fic! It sounds very interesting. (I've still got your Haleth story on my reading list...)

Aw, thank you! :) As for the fic - I'm just waiting for that to come back from my beta; hopefully there'll be a chance to post it later tonight. ^^ And you know where to find the Haleth fic when you get around to it. :D I'd love to read your thoughts on that one - much less worldbuild-y than the current one (or at less wildly fantastical), but all the same. :)

there have been little things on tumblr I'd otherwise laugh away that made me want to yell from the rooftops how idiotic they are.

I'm sorry to hear that. I recently left tumblr because I felt it aggravated me, despite how fun it can be.

I hope you feel better soon, and good luck with your fic. :)

Thank you! :) I already switched accounts once already to get away from the fandom there, and lately it keeps crawling back, so my blacklist has been growing longer by leaps and bounds - I totally understand wanting to get away from it... there is a lot to be said for LJ or DW as blogging platforms instead.

Thank you! ^^

"there is a lot to be said for LJ or DW as blogging platforms instead."

Certainly. I find people here to be on the whole more polite and less belligerent. I suppose it boils down to what you want. I should have known a private, don't-want-to-pick-a-fight person like me would never fit in on a highly public (not to mention juvenile) site like tumblr. I love the fact that I can control who gets to see my posts and who doesn't on LJ. It feel safer and more comfortable.

And you're welcome!

Hmm… I think I like the idea of spring fatigue better than spring fever; it's more along the lines of what happens to me. (Though I am so incredibly glad that it's finally warming up, it's not funny.)

Good luck and have fun writing! :D

We haven't nearly had the winter you had over there (barely two weeks that even deserved the name), but the weather finally turning toward spring is a relief anyway. About time for that! And I've always wondered if Spring Fever was meant to be taken semi-literally, not in the positive sense, because that's been the feeling I've seen described much more often...

:D Thank you! I was having ridiculous amounts of fun with this fic, although the worldbuilding ran away with me and pretty much made me alternate between states best expressed by \o/ and /o\ - but it's done now and will hopefully be posted on the comm tonight. ^^

Spring fatigue seems to be MUCH more what I'm feeling too. I was just saying to my roommate at dinner that I seem to be irritated with everyone I know IRL for no good reason, which isn't fair and probably has some sort of external at-large reason. Though I did get to take a joyous evening walk and smell the spring air tonight, so there are upsides! (never mind that we're forecasted for a blizzard day after tomorrow :P).

Hwenti Avari with bonus femslash

Looking forward to that!! :D

Ah, don't you just love early spring and its weather? So stable and reliable! :P I hope your blizzard turns out less dire than it sounds, at any rate, and having had a bit of spring is nice, at least. :)

Fic is on the way - hopefully soon! ^^ Hwenti and femslash and background half-elven Easterlings, oh my! :D

I've been re-reading the Silmarillion but restricting my comments to flocked posts on my own LJ. Spring Fatigue makes sense!

Nothing wrong with that! Private ruminations can be fun as well. :)
