For those of you interested in LJ's lack of functionality recently as well as why there is so much Russian influence, this article might be interesting to you. I found it enlightening.
It seems like LJ has had a lot of problems since they sold to another company. I'm starting a secondary blog for all my rambling about anime, books, manga, etc. I may start linking the rambles on LJ and just keep this one for more personal stuff.
That to me is the beauty of LJ - is *is* very personal, and I have built a very personal community here. I have other Web sites but they're not the same.
Interesting. Thanks for the link. I hope there aren't too many more attacks or problems because I feel like a lot of lj users are jumping ship which is kinda sad. I've always felt very at home here and I'd hate for everyone to up and leave.
Yeah, I feel the same way. I see some people leaving and it makes me sad, especially since I haven't noticed any problems other than the recent attacks, and actually I haven't noticed any problems from that either. (Of course that last bit doesn't mean anything; I know you've had lots of problems.) But to me other than the attacks its functionality is as good as ever. I really like the privacy functions and the community I've built here. A lot of that hasn't transferred over to sites like Facebook, which for me is a site that is personal, yet not.
Yeah. :/ What I found interesting was that Russia's interest in LJ basically kept it alive. I didn't know we were in such danger of being shut down after Six Apart bought us (though I had a little feeling, but didn't know it was that dire).
