Vegetarian

I just don't agree with charging people who wants to eat vegetarian money to buy the book (guide to eat at fast food restaraunt), so I'm making my own list...

They're all vegetarian-friendly, but NOT vegan friendly. Sorry.

Thank you so much. Sour cream may have gelatine in Taco Bell. Hope this isn't true.

Last I read/heard Burger King wasn't giving any definite answer on what goes in their fries .. they admitted awhile back (June) saying they use poultry flavoring .. here's the link: http://www.vrg.org/fries.htm

You've inspired me to check up on a couple more places I hadn't contacted before..
BK is sending me their newly revised nutritional pamphlet which apparently includes ingredient-origin information (i.e., "natural flavor - plant source"). Taco Bell's staff nutritionist is supposed to be calling me back within "72 business hours" with information regarding their vegetarian menu options.

If I understood correctly, you mentioned that you'd like website addresses for: Taco Bell and Sonic - not that I've ever heard of Sonic before today... :} I live in Canada, and a small area at that. So... I don't think my city even has *any* Drive-In's anymore, much less that one.

I didn't immediately see any ingredient information on the Sonic website, but there is a mailing address and phone number where you can reach them and ask about that stuff. Most places are accommodating and try to help.

On a total side note: I am curious about your inclusion of dairy products in the "vegetarian friendly" items you listed, but your exclusion of eggs. You' ( ... )

Great! I'd love it if you could tell me what the nutritionist says when he calls back! (comment or email me @ ladyfreeze@friday-night.net )

And heh, yeah, I don't eat eggs. Most eggs were alive when they were killed, and I feel that's meat. However, I hear that the regular everyday eggs you buy in supermarkets and find in cakes, etc. were never really alive and are just part of the hen's menstrual cycle and what I have to say to that is... pft. I dunno. I just feel it's too much of a gray area and so I don't eat it... (I also don't drink milk alone... it just taste nasty ;)

and hey! you're from canada? that kicks ass. i'd love to live there. it's a big free healthcare, peaceful country... at least to me.

I will let you know what he/she says, if/when I hear back from them. Hopefully I'll remember to, anyway.. I have my incredibly spacy moments for forgetfulness... :}

Most eggs were alive when they were killed
Are you sure about that? Everything I've always heard and read and all that has indicated that the eggs collected for sale/to be eaten were unfertilized. Hens go through a similar cycle to human females, and they lay eggs regularly (just like we pass eggs through our periods). But unless they've mated with a rooster, then the eggs are simply... the unfertilized place where a chick would've been ( ... )

oh heh.

oh no, eggs that are found in supermarkets and eggs that are used in daily stuff like baking and etc are just period/menstrual stuff.

by "most other eggs" i meant like when you eat chinese and other oriental food. quail eggs, and basically a lot of other eggs and etc. it's fertilized and then they kill it. some restaraunts even wait until its actually a baby bird to kill it while its still in the egg.

so sorry if i wasnt clear in my last post. i forget sometimes that the world didnt eat as much meat as i used to.... :)
