Can someone please explain to me why you can't send a four year old to a free public school with a pre kindergarten program in Texas without having to qualify based on income!? I always thought that once your child was old enough to go to public school (including pre-k) that you just had to register your child. I didn't realize you had to "qualfiy

Ugh, I know what you mean. Do you have any sort of head start program or community action program that might help? Matt and I got Owen into a pre-k and paid a reduced fee based on our income. It was a huge help.
