The good news is, I did really well on my word count for the first week. The bad news? Everything went to hell after the first three days.

First, I developed a dental abscess. If you've never had one of these, I'll just say that a.) you're lucky as hell, and b.) they hurt like a motherfucker. I'm talking white hot throbbing, unable to function ( Read more... )

You're doing so great on your word count! I agree that the new site was not at all ready to roll out when then did. So many of us are sitting here wondering what they were thinking. Can we even blame it on an upper management sort of thing?

Glad to hear you are recovering. Dental pain is no joke. *hugs*

Thank you. Yeah, everyone I've talked to has had problems with the site in one way or another. I've decided not to stress about it - I just hope I'll be able to correct my word counts later on.

WOW, lady! Congratulations! I wrote Nanowrimo ( actually :P it was about my adult career) waaaaay back in 2008 when I pretty much first came here. It turned out to be about 90K words, or so. I've never had a dental abcess, but I broke two teeth and one of them broke down to the root, so it had to be extracted in pieces. That was not pretty!!!

You did NaNoWriMo, too? Nice! Did you ever publish what you wrote?

I didn't...it's still out there somewhere on Nanowrimo though and I have no idea how to find it again.

The NaNoWriMo website doesn't store your work. You didn't save a backup copy?

If not, I hope you'll consider rewriting it someday. I'd love to read all about your adventures!
